Land of Dreams

“Land of dreams” is a phrase penned by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, one of my favorite authors. Although he was referring to the south of England, his description of a land that inspired the imagination through its desolate beauty, isolation, and remnants of bygone eras, seemed to be a perfect description of the Big Bend country. This particular scene shows Paisano Peak in the distance. A solitary cloud crowns its summit while the jagged, rolling hills swell up to its base.
