Autumn Crown
The idea for Autumn Crown began early in the fall when I was walking through a heavily wooded area around sunset. I had my camera and hoped to shoot something interesting, though what it might be I wasn’t sure. Eventually I found a small area that opened up and allowed the warm light from the sun to hit the mesquite trees and patches of ground. I decided the scene would work well for displaying a trophy buck front and center and set out make it happen. Struggles to shoot good reference material and a move into our first house ended up turning Autumn Crown into a Spring painting, but there’s always another fall!
