Sendero Sunrise

Although the majority of my work is self-conceived, I have had the opportunity to take commissions from time to time. “Sendero Sunrise” is an example of a commission where the buyer had a good idea of what they wanted from the beginning and were able to describe their vision before I began.  “Sendero” means trail or path, and this sunrise rendezvous between a buck and his doe made for a striking scene. I chose a heavier-weave canvas, and while it made capturing detail more of a challenge, it also gave the final a nice tactile, rustic feel.
