This little illustration, just like “Sleeping Giant“, was born out of an idea rather than being inspired by a specific location. I love old ruins and forgotten places, and while I hope to one day travel to Europe to see the remnants of civilizations gone by, for now I rely on imagination. I pictured an ancient stone path in a thick forest. A clearing gradually breaks open revealing the abandoned grounds of a once great castle.
This illustration is in archival ink using the stippling technique (thousands of dots making up an image).
